Food and beverage manufacturers
Reformulate with confidence.
We license technology for a bulk sweetener and non-animal casein, so you cut sugar and keep texture and stability.
What we do for food makers
Fooditive licenses fermentation technology to food and beverage manufacturers. You make our ingredients in your own plant, or we manage production at a CDMO near you, after testing them in your products. Today that means Fooditive Sweetener® Keto-Fructose (5-keto-D-fructose, 5-KDF) and non-animal casein.
Both are built to survive industrial processing and to bring back the texture that reformulation often loses.
How licensing worksThe challenge
Today's reformulation challenge
Innovation teams face three problems at once.
- Structure. Less sugar often means less body, aeration and shelf life. Intense sweeteners bring sweetness but leave a gap in bulk.
- Process. New ingredients can break down under low-pH carbonation or high-heat pasteurisation.
- Supply. Agricultural commodities leave production exposed to weather and price shocks.

Why choose us
Ingredients built for real production lines
Making food better, category by category
- Bakery. 5-KDF keeps structure, volume and crumb in cakes, cookies and muffins. It browns less than sucrose, for precise colour control.
- Dairy and frozen desserts. 5-KDF lowers the freezing point for a scoopable texture. Non-animal casein gives cheese analogues melt and stretch.
- Beverages. About 200 g/L soluble at 25 °C and stable from pH 3 to 9, so it suits acidic drinks.
- Confectionery. Lower moisture uptake than fructose means less stickiness. 5-KDF also helps control water activity for shelf life.
- Sauces and dressings. The TDS lists sauces and dressings among its uses. Our casein is designed for stable emulsions in sauces and creamers.

Non-animal casein · GRAS notices submitted
Dairy protein, made by fermentation
Casein is the protein that gives cheese its melt and stretch. We make it by precision fermentation with precision-engineered E. coli strains.
It has a neutral, mild dairy flavour without vegetal off-notes. GRAS notices were submitted to FDA in February 2026.

Make it yourself, or source it
Technology licensing. We license our strains and validated process to your operation. You produce in your own supply chain, shielded from commodity swings.
Production managed by Fooditive. For companies without fermentation capacity, Fooditive manages production at a contract manufacturer (CDMO) near your factory. The ingredient is made close to your line.
How licensing worksThe joint pilot programme
Test it on your line first
Every sample comes with a pilot programme built around your product.
-
We review your product
For example a low-pH carbonated drink or a high-protein retort shake. Or we define the challenge together.
-
We propose a pilot
A targeted trial that tests stability and taste under your own processing conditions.
-
We support you to scale
Our technical team supports your formulation work until the concept is validated.

Questions from food makers
Do you sell the ingredient or license the technology?
We license the technology. You produce the ingredient in your own plant, or Fooditive manages production for you at a CDMO near your factory, so you control production, cost and supply.
What is the U.S. regulatory status of 5-KDF?
Self-affirmed GRAS (2024, independent expert panel). GRAS notice GRN 1326 submitted to FDA on 29 January 2026.
Does 5-KDF count as added sugar?
Not classified as Added Sugars under most regulatory definitions; final labelling is subject to jurisdiction-specific guidance.
What is the status of non-animal casein?
GRAS notices submitted to FDA in February 2026.
How do we start?
Request a sample or apply for pilot access. We review your product and propose a trial under your processing conditions.
