From challenge to prototype
Request samples
Whether you’re exploring animal-free dairy performance or next-gen sweetening, we’ll help you test the right solution.
Let’s start your project
Submit your request below and we’ll guide you through the best sample size, evaluation format and next steps, from first screening to pilot support.
You can request Fooditive Sweetener® Keto-Fructose (5-keto-D-fructose, 5-KDF) and non-animal casein. Many R&D teams come to us with similar questions:
- How do we get real dairy-like texture in a plant-based or hybrid base?
- How do we reduce sugar without losing taste or mouthfeel?
- How do we make this scalable and compliant, from lab to line?
How the process works
Five steps from your first message to production trials.
-
Step 1Share your challenge and product idea
You complete the request form:
- your product concept and target market,
- the main technical or labelling challenge,
- desired timelines for trials and possible launch.
-
Step 2Fit and solution path
Our team reviews your request through three lenses:
- technical fit,
- capacity fit,
- commercial potential.
-
Step 3Alignment call
For many projects, we suggest a short technical call to refine:
- process conditions and key parameters,
- labelling and certification considerations (vegan, organic, kosher/halal, etc.),
- target benchmarks for taste, texture and performance.
-
Step 4Confirm samples, pilot and support
For accepted projects, we then confirm in writing:
- which ingredient(s) and formats (non-animal casein and/or 5-KDF),
- sample or pilot size and timing,
- whether the material is complimentary (small screening) or part of a paid / co-funded pilot.
-
Step 5Trials, data and next decisions
You run trials under your own process conditions. We remain available for:
- formulation and troubleshooting support,
- discussion of results and further optimisation,
- conversations about larger pilot runs and long-term supply.

Why some projects include a financial contribution
Each sample uses fermentation, purification and lab time. When we approve a project, we commit pilot capacity and team time to your challenge.
For non-animal casein, and for larger 5-KDF projects, we normally work through a paid or co-funded structure. This contribution helps us:
- reserve pilot capacity and team time for your project,
- dedicate R&D time to your specific formulations,
- move more quickly from “interesting trial” to clear commercial decisions.
Small screening samples may be complimentary where appropriate. Anything beyond that is a joint development project rather than a simple sample shipment.

Frequently asked questions
Which samples can I request?
Fooditive Sweetener® Keto-Fructose (5-keto-D-fructose, 5-KDF) and non-animal casein. You can also ask for the technical data sheet only.
Do samples cost anything?
Small screening samples may be complimentary where appropriate. Non-animal casein and larger 5-KDF projects normally run as a paid or co-funded project.
How quickly will I hear back?
We reply within two working days. For many projects we then suggest a short technical call to agree the sample size, trial format and next steps.
What is technology licensing?
Technology licensing gives companies access to Fooditive’s proprietary technology, intellectual property, and technical know-how under agreed commercial terms, enabling partners to develop or commercialize products using our innovations.
What types of technology licensing does Fooditive offer?
Depending on the project, licensing can be structured as exclusive or non-exclusive and may be defined by territory, application, product category, manufacturing rights, or another agreed commercial scope.
How do I know if technology licensing is the right option for my business?
Licensing is one of several ways to work with Fooditive. During an initial discussion, we’ll evaluate your business objectives and help determine whether technology licensing or another collaboration model is the best fit.
Can a licensing agreement be tailored to a specific market or application?
Yes. Licensing agreements can be customized for specific countries, regions, industries, applications, or product categories, depending on the commercial opportunity and partnership objectives.
How do I start a technology licensing partnership with Fooditive?
The process begins with a conversation. We’ll discuss your objectives, intended applications, technical requirements, and commercialization plans to determine the most suitable licensing approach for your business.
